Endless PLA #39 (October 2025) - Festive Fall Fun

We kicked off the fall season with a trip to the East Coast for a 3D printing festival, 3D Printopia. The highlight for us is the custom 3D printed RC cars that, like Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots, try to knock each other's heads off. They call 'em Death Racers. Ominous, I know, but the builds are beautiful and the competition is chaos (in a good way). There are so many vehicles from every direction. Check out this video to see what I mean!

It's a generally good time with lots of laughs. We're grateful for the Offset Maker Lab crew's creativity, hard work, and friendship. This year they designed and built three Batman-themed racers, and we embraced the superhero theme for our booth as well. What a perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit for October's Endless PLA!

October's Contemporary Colors

Inspired by the season, enjoy Smooth Bronze, Gradient Gray, and Glitter 'n Gourd.

Like Smooth Gold and Second to None Silver, Smooth Bronze has a smooth, shiny finish made from fine gold pearl. A touch of black transforms gold to bronze for a muted, antique look that makes for some fancy prints. The first print I had to make was Alan Mandic's Gargoyle Door Knocker, and I was not disappointed! What do you think? I think you'll want to make your own! Be sure to check out Alan's other work as well!!!

Gradient Gray is like our other opaque multicolor filaments that transition about every 50 g, only it's not colorful like Mango Medley. It's more like Black to the Fuchsia without the Fuchsia. I don't know what y'all will print with it, but I imagined a disappearing ghost in the night so I gave CM Design's Flexi Ghost a go. It's a fun model with the added flexy bits at the bottom of the ghost. Discover more of Corey's designs or read about our collab.

Last, but not least, I imagined smashing pumpkins to make filament. Sounds fun, right? Also messy... Maybe I should try freeze drying? Not this year. Instead, I grabbed gold glitter to make Glitter 'n Gourd. All that glitter makes for one poppin' pumpkin!!! I enjoyed printing the Happy Head of Skeleton Jack and you can too if you are a Patreon of Flexi Factory.

Adding the Classics

I looked for classics to complete a Halloween pallet like this.

I chose Tangerine Orange Metallic, Gloop! Purple, and Ecto Ooze Green from our classics. I like how the two oranges compliment one another. It's also fun, especially for Halloween to have the fluorescence of Ecto Ooze. Smooth Bronze is a nice compliment too. What do you think?
