Prices are a little bit high, but I’m proud to support a US based company and I’m super happy. The company is willing to experiment with variety and offer small quantities with no minimum orders. I think it’s a super fair trade-off keep up the good work
This stuff is pretty awesome, but deceiving it looks lackluster in regular light definitely not clear. Definitely not white kind of milky foggy translucent almost natural color until you hit it with the right UV and it seems very unnaturally bright/reflective and the more you mess around with it under different lighting conditions you don’t think it’s that impressive until you compare it to some regular reflective or glowing filaments and then you realize it’s pretty unique and awesome personally I’d like to see some quantum dot material mixed with a little bit of fluorescent material of the same color and a little bit of the reflective glass spheres in an opaque light color based filament I don’t know how easy it would be to combine all the materials in enough quantity to make a difference, but it feels like the quantum dots could really amplify the effects of either a glow in the dark pigment or a fluorescent pigment and a little bit of the glass sphere could be anywhere from A added reflective, sparkle, or just get lost in the material and one other crazy idea I had and I don’t know how you would pull it off but several years ago a YouTube channel painted a car with Musso black paint that absorbs something like 99% of light it is so black your brain can’t comprehend distance or definition, but then they added some sort of reflective sparkles to it and I could you not the car look like it was a dark sky filled with stars crazy impressive in the sunlight and I was thinking if you could have a crazy pitch black Mat color filament as well as something like the Musso Black that just does a little bit extra good job of absorbing light and then you put maybe half quantity of quantum dot material in it so the object would disappear in the dark basically and then when you hit it with black light, it wouldn’t necessarily glow, but it would have crazy reflective spots that hit the surface anyways just rambling
Fantastic array of artistic filaments and enthusiastic people behind ever spool!
By far the best looking marble effect in 3D printing. This filament, when printed, accepts graphite powder and pencil really well for ultra realistic detailing. This is a new favorite!
We bought this material (or at least an earlier version of it, perhaps) about 10 years ago for our R&D group, and printed it on our SeeMeCNC Orion. It let us print prototype tool designs that were visible under a fluorograph (it's a live x-ray machine). Our surgeons were impressed when we practiced with synthetic bone materials under fluoro. And when we were done, I put our prototypes on my filing cabinet side with a magnet!
I believe our old test cube print is going on 10 years old now and hasn't rusted yet.
This filament is GORGEOUS. Thecombo of the translucent rich red and the gold flakes just make this pop so beautifully!
This stuff is really pretty! It has a nice subtle pearlescent sheen to it that reminds me a lot of the pearl frost white color of my car!
Nice and bright and if you sand it a bit more reflective
This is a great color. I'm relatively new to 3D printing, and was able to successfully print with it on my P1S with little effort. My wife was very happy with the color, it matched her car perfectly.
Straight off the print bed, it looks like terracotta, but don't be discouraged. Bringing out the metal is a little time consuming but not difficult (I used the same brass brush I clean my nozzle with) and the oxidization is easy and incredible. If you only brush it (like I did in these pictures) it takes sunlight to make it shine, but sanding makes it glisten like a penny. Things printed with this are heavy and make your hands smell like metal when you handle it a lot. I was surprised how easy it was to print with; for me the difficulty was comparable to maybe a glow in the dark filament. I'd use this for everything if I could.
Love this filament! Easy to print. Looks amazing. Durable. A little pricey for amount on the spool, but worth it.
Excellent print material, consistent prints, great and consistent color, 10/10 would buy again
Printing with this filament was easier than expected! It prints somewhat like regular PLA but a bit more brittle. I used the same settings listed on the data sheet with no problems. For context, I have a Prusa i3 MK3S+ with a 0.4 hardened steel nozzle.
Getting the rusting effect I wanted took some experimenting....I was going for a splotchy/layered rust that had different tones of orange.....similar to corten steel. What I found worked best was to place multiple size/shape droplets of rusting solution on the print and let it sit for a while. I used a heat gun to "bake" in that layer of rust....then repeat the process. Misting the print with a thin layer of liquid resulted in a dull brown rust that was kind of boring. The rust will rub off if you do not spray with some kind of fixative. I used Matte Finish from Krylon.
