Don't smile. Cover your mouth. There's a bounty on your teeth!
At Protoplant, we cherish creative freedom. Now usually that leads to awesome filaments and the machines + processes to make that possible, but sometimes, creativity turns a turn to a dark place...
Backstory: K2 Kevin, Jim (Edge of Tech), I (Alex at Protopasta) and some others we're standing around after a long day at RMMRF 2025. Sober, but clearly in a mood, we had the most fun and odd conversation I've ever had at an event and in a long time (maybe ever) in general. The experience of joking about teeth filament was so memorable, that I pitched it as an April Fools idea to Jim and Corey.
I've dreamt of creating content that's not serious nor literal, yet still relevant and creative. It was a lot of work, but also so much fun to realize a wild idea in a new medium and style. We really made this for our own entertainment, but we hope you enjoy it as well! Such a good time and memories making this along with Jim, Corey (CM Design), and Offset Maker Lab (Ryan and Steve). See us? Ask about the crowbar! What a memorable side quest!!!
Anyway, the reason I'm writing this is because while it was a April Fools gag, we actually made filament inspired by teeth. Is it teeth? What do you think??? While it's fun to leave you in the dark, wondering, but I'll spoil it now: It's not teeth. No foolin'! It's our calcium carbonate-filled c-Matte PLA with a touch of pearl for sparkle. Get it? Pearly whites.
This filament is a limited edition with a short run available exclusively at RMRRF 2026 (April 18-19) and delivered to February + March Endless PLA subscribers in April. Along with "Is it Teeth?" Endless PLA subscribers to CORE and MORE received two additional new filaments from the community: Amie's Tears of My Enemies and Steve's Venomous Green HTPLAs.

Subscribers to MORE also received some classics from our community, including Joel's Highfive Blue, Juliette's Raspberry Jam, and Stef's Rose Gold. You can find all of our community-inspired colors in this collection. All-in-all, we hope you enjoyed the filaments this month!

Missed out? Join us next time by subscribing to Endless PLA before May 31st for June's shipment or browse our newest releases. Know a group of people who'd like to make filament with us or need a custom color for your business? Contact us.
Take care and enjoy the pasta,

3D Printing with Protopasta
Print "Is it Teeth" like our other matte PLAs. Recommendations in this blog and on this page. This month's other materials all print like our other HTPLAs.
For Protopasta HTPLA (and PLA) on Bambu machines, I start with the Generic PLA settings and increase the nozzle temp from 220 to 240 for our HTPLA colors. Make sure the build plate is set to 55C and the maximum volume rate is limited to 12 mm3/s.
Alternatively, for Protopasta matte and metal filaments, I start with Generic PLA settings and decrease the nozzle from 220 to 200. That'll get you a pretty good result with minimal additional knowledge, but you can always email support@protoplant.com for assistance.
I can't wait to see what you print with these. Whatever you make, I hope you are inspired by these fun filaments! Tag Protopasta to show us what you make!!!
