    Designer Perspective

    While relatively straight-forward and mainstream as far as colors go, I enjoyed finding a pleasing blend of fine and medium pearl to balance texture and opacity. Even more enjoyable was crafting a name for silver which is so often a symbol of 2nd place.

    A surprisingly subtle glittery silver filament that prints beautifully

    I got this silver filament as part of Protopasta’s filament of the month subscription program. This was the first one I tried, and it did not disappoint. My first print with it came out almost perfect, aside from fine stringing that cleaned up easily and did not affect the appearance of the print itself. Despite the name, this filament looks to be more of homage to the faux-metallic look of a plastic toy, rather than attempting to be truly silver in appearance. It’s a faintly glittery light grey that would compliment almost any color, including the nearly fluorescent orange and “Proton Purple” that featured alongside it.
