High performance material for high performance hardware.

Heated bed and all-metal hotend recommended!

Processing is more challenging. For best results, a heated bed is required to control warpage and improve layer adhesion. Cross-sectional area should be minimized.

  • Available in 1.75 mm and 2.85 (3) mm diameters, black or natural color
  • 500g is on a 8" diameter spool

PC-ABS is moisture sensitive. Even when stored in a bag with desiccant, drying in an oven for ~ 1hr at 85C-95C may be required for bubble free high strength prints.

In our experience, good results are achieved when printing small parts at 270-290C on a heated bed at 110C up to 140C. For larger prints with good layer adhesion and minimal distortion, an enclosure is ideal.

I recommend this product

Great results at very high temperature

Printed at 268*C — as hot as my printer goes. Used glue stick on glass for adhesion. Produced a great temperature-resistant motor mount for 3D printed electric RC plane. No warping. Great layer adhesion. Nice looking part.

PC-ABS Great Material

We had an application that needed to deal with fairly high temps without deflection or softening. The print was to resemble a spark plug boot and hide a modern coil-on-plug ignition system. The angles and overhangs of the part made printing a bit tricky but this filament, after being dialed in, performed beautifully. The final product received a black topcoat and matte 2k clear finish and as a result required some post processing. The filament sands well and both myself and the customer couldn't be happier with the end result. Printed using an E3D hotend with 0.4mm Nozzle X Layer height 0.2 Print temps around 280c Heated bed 3/8 inch aluminum plate with borosilicate glass and PEI heated to 105c These are fairly small parts so warping and bed adhesion wasn't an issue. Layer bonding is very strong these work as a snap fit and require some flex. With the correct layer orientation haven't seen any delamination or cracking. Filament has exactly the properties I was looking for.

Very good mechanical material

I've been trying high-strength materials recently and this is one of the best. It's not quite as stiff as polycarbonate, but it doesn't take a 300-degree extruder either. In fact, it has been working well at 265, with the layers fully bonded. (I'm not sure of the calibration of my thermistor--I think it reads high, maybe as much as 10 degrees.) With the bed at 110 it adheres well enough (on PEI, or on Kapton with Magigoo) for the small parts I've been making, but it is probably not enough for something large. I'm finding that you can get a good working temperature for most of these materials by turning it up until the chemical smell becomes obvious. Below that point they're usually not quite bonded.
