Have you ever had a light bulb moment? When a new idea hits you???

Almost 10 years ago, we had a lightbulb moment that lead to the Protopasta kickstarter. What if we brought the same innovation and access to 3D printing materials that other companies were bring to 3D printer hardware? Now that's using your noodle!

Over the last 10 years we've had many more lightbulb moments in refining our process and creating new materials like conductive and metal-filled filaments. This year, Corey of CM Designs has helped light the way to new opportunity and exploration in designing for 3D printing (more about the Protopasta x CM Design Collaboration).

This month, we built on new opportunity brought by our new glass-inspired translucent filaments: Bottle Brown, Cobalt Blue, and Soda Green (July's Endless PLA delivery now available individually at Protopasta.com). We've been interested in exploring lamp design for some time and translucent materials seemed a perfect opportunity to throw, I mean make, shade.

Rather than bore you with more text, please consider the below tutorial Corey has created for us all to share his process where you can print your own lamp with your own custom lampshade using a 2D texture of your choice!
